Youths Celebrate International Youth Day in Kenya

By Lucy Wanjiru

Youths across Kenya congregated to celebrate International Youth Day, highlighting the
importance of youth empowerment and involvement in national development. Various
events, including workshops, sports activities, and cultural performances marked the
day.

In Nairobi, youth groups gathered to discuss issues such as unemployment, access to
education, and mental health. The celebrations also provided a platform for young
people to showcase their talents and innovations, with many expressing hope for a
brighter future.

Government officials and non-governmental organizations emphasized the need for
greater youth participation in decision-making processes. They acknowledged the
significant role that young people play in shaping the country’s future and encouraged
them to continue advocating for their rights and interests.

International Youth Day in Kenya served as a reminder of the potential lying within the
country’s youth and the importance of nurturing this potential for the betterment of the
nation.
