By Lucy,
In a bold move, Generation Z activists have occupied the Ministry of Health (MOH) in
Nairobi, demanding improvements in healthcare and fair internship placements for
medical graduates. The young protesters are calling attention to critical issues such as
inadequate healthcare services, shortage of medical supplies, and the lack of proper
internship opportunities for medical students.
The occupation, which began early Thursday, aims to pressure the government to
address these long-standing issues. Protesters have set up tents and banners, vowing
to stay until their demands are met. They argue that the current state of the healthcare
system is unacceptable and that recent graduates deserve fair and timely postings to
complete their training.
The Ministry of Health has acknowledged the protesters' presence and expressed
willingness to engage in dialogue. As the occupation continues, the government faces
mounting pressure to implement reforms and improve conditions for healthcare
providers and patients.
