Siasa Place Organization recently held a community baraza at Kaburengu in Kakamega
County, where youths voiced critical concerns affecting their daily lives. The forum
served as a platform for young people to discuss pressing issues such as
unemployment, insecurity, and poor infrastructure, including the lack of medicine in local
hospitals.
The youths highlighted the high rates of joblessness among their peers, calling for more
job creation initiatives and support for entrepreneurship. Security concerns were also
raised, with participants pointing out the increasing crime rates and the need for better
policing in the area.
The lack of essential medicines in hospitals was another important issue discussed,
with youths urging the county government to address the healthcare crisis. Siasa Place
Organization facilitated the dialogue, emphasizing the importance of youth participation
in governance and the need for urgent action to address these challenges. The baraza
ended with a call for continued engagement and accountability from local leaders.
