I won’t be silenced!!
Not even by condescending rhetoric about age,
demeaning notion that only its abundance secures sage,
incessant blubbers that youth won’t herald the cutting edge,
instead of recognition, give them a peasant’s wage.
Despite spew of this fallacious and misguided adage!
I won’t be silenced!

When regimes need to change, turn a new page,
When old tricks lose their edge, future needs a page,
When old tykes, unable to learn new schemes, lie in their cage,
When revolutions are fought, and the course demands courage.
When society bleeds, I’ll step up to bandage.
I won’t be silenced!

With these many ideas and insights; knowledge’s apprentice,
When commodores, decorated, steer ship to crisis,
When lives are in ruins – formation of ISIS,
In this inebriated congregation, I’ll be the sane voice in the diocese.
Exude a fragrance of sobriety, till common sense undergoes mitosis.
