Of Economic and Social Rights - Article 43

Etched in the soul of a nation, antediluvian dreams of our fore bearers,

Article 43 overcomes contradictions – a deistic dogma from conquerors.

Rights upheld in veneration, divine and defined even for wanderers,

Yet from the shadows of temptations, creep squalor from squanderers

We envisioned the right to health, and serenity of healing’s embrace –

Expansion of productive depth, not collapsed clinics in forgotten space,

Neither systems operated in stealth, nor shrouded schemes that end in disgrace.

Now hospitals are drenched in death, halls littered by souls fallen to aches.

We thought of housing and sanitation, and the sanctity of human dignity,

Of slums and human devastation, and liberating sanity of social amenity,

promise of proper accommodation, and the naked vanity of class bigotry.

Instructed by prevailing precepts of civilization, roofless gain community.

We contemplated freedom from hunger, and daunting haunt of despair,

Of empty stomachs and their dangers, and the urgent need to care.

Accounting for granaries and mangers, and scare of corruption’s stare,

The need to feed fellow strangers, and ferry fruits of fair to bear.

We considered flow of clean water, and thirst in drowning villages,

Social security as a key factor, and pain of the unnamed in pledges,

Of an education system in tatters, and strain of dying dreams in cages,

How emergency care matters, and brain drain from depressing wages

Now we fight for Constitutionalism, and enforcement of each pillar,

Youth ache for professionalism, and a fair chance to man the quiller.

We rise in the spirit of nationalism, fighting for power to pay the miller,

We fight for self-determinism, and prime promise of Leaders Not Killers.
