In Turbo Sub‑County, schools are coming alive in ways that inspire hope. Thanks to the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG‑CDF), children and young people are learning in safer, brighter, and more welcoming environments. Every brick laid and every light installed is changing lives and shaping the future.
At Turbo Vocational Training Institute in Kamagut Ward, a new high mast security light now illuminates the campus. Evening classes and practical workshops, once interrupted by darkness and fear, now go on safely. Students can move around freely, focus on their lessons, and gain skills that will help them in life.
“I feel safe coming to school even in the evening, unlike before where cases of mugging were high. Darkness covered every corner and you could not see who or what is waiting for you in the darkness” says Daniel Kiprono, a student at the institute. “The light allows me to concentrate on learning. I would really love to appreciate the NG‑CDF Turbo Sub-county for it has truly made a difference in my education.”
In Tapsagoi Ward, Kenduiywa Primary School now has a permanent administration block. Before, the headteacher and staff worked in temporary offices that were cramped and uncomfortable. Managing school records, coordinating classes, and helping students was a daily struggle. The new block has changed all that. It is not just a building it is a place where teachers can work effectively and students can benefit from better school management. Learning doesn’t start from the classroom it starts from the planning of the lessons and what a better way is it than having a good conducive environment for the administration to do the learning plans.
Meanwhile, in Kiplombe Ward, Kaplelach Primary School has received a major renovation of six classrooms. Old, worn-out classrooms have been transformed into bright, safe spaces where learning is exciting. Students who once sat in crowded, uncomfortable rooms now have space to focus on their lessons. The joy and energy of the children reflect the difference a proper classroom can make.
These projects are more than construction they are symbols of opportunity, hope, and community growth. NG‑CDF is helping students dream bigger, teachers work better, and schools become the heart of their communities. Every classroom, every office, and every light is a step toward a brighter future.
It is truly inspiring to see NG‑CDF being used to better the lives of the people of Turbo Sub‑County. Education is no longer just about books; it is about safety, opportunity, and hope. And for the children and young people of Turbo, that hope shines brighter than ever.
