Mwanzo residents in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, can now smile as the estate’s roads near completion. The project, which had stalled for quite some time due to delayed funding, had left residents and local workers hopeless. Their hope was rekindled when construction finally resumed. The ongoing works have also created employment opportunities for local residents.
The Uasin Gishu County Government, under Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim, included Mwanzo in its program to upgrade roads, expand drainage systems, and install streetlights. The construction has given the estate a new face, leaving residents happy and optimistic that it will grow both economically and socially — although the cost of living is expected to rise, as Mwanzo has always been home to many middle-class residents.
This is just one of several road projects under construction, alongside others in Shauri, Langas, and nearby estates. Residents are hopeful for full transformation, as the project had taken longer than expected to complete. His Excellency Governor Chelilim Bii continues to work hard to fulfill the promises made in his development agenda, pushing tirelessly to meet the targets outlined in his manifesto.
