Lights, Action!

By THE GREAT Imboywa Michael

Imagine a world covered in total darkness — no stars, no moon, no sun, no light. Then suddenly, a voice declares: “Let there be light.” The world transforms into a place of beauty, hope, and life.

Light has always been core  to human survival. It gives hope, direction, and the ability to work and succeed. Light is important because humans have invented ways to brighten the night — not just to chase away fear, but also to increase productivity beyond daylight hours.

Governments too have recognized the power of light in enhancing lives. Street lights and security lights are no longer luxuries, but tools for boosting safety, commerce, and economic growth.

In Uasin Gishu, the county government has taken steps in this direction. By installing street and security lights and mulika mwizi  in key areas, they have made it possible for residents to move more freely and securely at night. Though challenges remain so in some parts, We appreciate the government’s efforts to ensure that insecurity has reduced, and residents can now spot potential threats and take precautions.

The results of this course are visible. Traders and small businesses are no longer forced to shut down early out of fear. People can operate up to late hours with confidence. This not only boosts income for families but also fuels the broader county economy.

Indeed, light does more than brighten our nights — it illuminates hope, fuels security, and powers growth.

Thumbs up for the government for thinking about this and your efforts to fulfill the agenda’s.
