JUSTICE IS JUST IT

Camistare 2025

They talk of peace but silence justice

‎What a miss?

‎They talk of dialogue but silence critics

‎What a mess?

‎They talk of rights but use bullets

‎Indiscriminately unleashing police boots

‎On kids in the streets picketing for freedom

‎From a system running on corruption

‎Murder and jungle law man

‎It is not yet Uhuru si ni mimi nakushow

‎They talk of sovereignty but chain us daily

‎They police the freedom of our thoughts

‎And dictate the tone of our speech

‎Or the contents of what we speak

‎When we speak truth to power

‎It is not yet Uhuru and the blind can now see

‎They talk of table manners but chose the manner less

‎They talk of siri ni numbers but ignore the numberless

‎Who just want a good country

‎Where the last name is not a death sentence

‎Of dreams, chances and opportunities

‎Or even the right to become, to rise or to shine

‎It is not yet Uhuru until we all bleed or rise as one

‎Mtu wetu stole our money

‎When they protested, he came to us

‎He told us to defend our community from attacks

‎We took arms and fought with hungry bellies

‎He smiled inside his guzzler and paid us a few pennies

‎The case collapsed at the courts,

the corridors of justice gave a verdict, not guilty

‎And then we hit the streets

‎To celebrate the victory of the thief one of us

‎It is not yet Uhuru na Kenya hakuna taa

‎My problem was my last name

‎It condemned me to the dustbin

‎So I rise to sing the anthem with a fire that you can’t dim

‎Because justice is my shield, I put in on as my defender

‎It is time for Uhuru na haki lazima Kenya

‎I am not a terrorist

‎I am harmless patriot on the streets

Adding my voice to the echoes of the patriots that are saying

‎We want a better Kenya where justice is the backbone

Of the peace and existence of the tribes in our borders

‎Ni time ya Uhuru na haki for better Kenya
