I have been dreaming dreams of a paradigm shift
In the mindsets of the citizens if my nation,
I have been dreaming dreams of a new revolution,
I have been dreaming dreams of the final liberation.
I have been dreaming dreams of a nation
Built upon the inalienable rights and freedoms
Enshrined in our constitution and not personalities,
Tribal kingpins or regional party politics
I have been dreaming dreams against ethnic cleansing,
Ethnocentricity and negative ethnicity.
I have been dreaming against police bullets,
Teargas canisters on these streets,
Tanks, water cannons, cruel baton in street protests,
I dream an end to the dogs and horses,
Police boots and violence
I have been dreaming dreams of peaceful co-existence.
I have been dreaming dreams of hope,
Dreams of a place where all lives matter,
Dreams of the guaranteed security for people and all property,
I have been dreaming dreams against ethnic bigotry,
And all attempts that ethnicity that profile me.
I still dream, I dream against tyranny and impunity
I have been dreaming dreams of justice,
dreams that remind me that peace, love and unity,
Exist where justice and true humanity are in abundance.
I dream of a better Kenya
And I will never stop dreaming or speaking
Come join me let us dream
I am still dreaming the Kenyan dream.
