BETTER WAYS TO CAUSE CHANGE

There are better ways

‎There are better ways than the streets to cause change

‎And we have all the things that we need to bring change

‎Yet ignorance remains our major defense

when we form queues to get handouts

‎And then we act surprised

‎We act very surprised when they mess us

You have power with your ballot

‎The loudest voice you have

‎But then this selective amnesia

‎We have at the polling station has always

‎Taken us back to the same situation

‎The truth is, he who pays the piper calls the tune

‎He who feeds the masses defines the meal,

‎The ratios, the ethos,

‎and all those things that we cannot chose or define

You give away your power, I see you

‎You give away your power, your birthright,

‎Your best life for a morsel and then you complain

‎It’s time, replace the streets with your votes

‎Replace the bullets with the ballot

‎When you do it, I swear they must listen

‎Have you registered to cast your ballot?

‎What the hell are you waiting for?

‎What the hell are you waiting for?

‎You want change but you do nothing

‎Shenziii sana, they call me that and it is true

‎More so if I don’t register as a voter

‎And when I chose not to vote
