A BEGGAR CANNOT CHOOSE

‎A beggar cannot choose

And once a beggar you must shoulder

‎Every trash that comes from your master

‎Every injustice that comes with your capture

‎Our sovereignty, our sovereignty will be safer

‎And secure, secure with debt regulation

‎We must balance between begging and thriving

‎We must kill our evil appetite for public resources

Because a beggar cannot choose, and a beggar is never free‎

‎We borrow money,

We borrow money that disappears in pockets

‎Of connected individuals in high places

‎Projects stall and cartels prosper

‎And that is the Kenyan problem we must address

‎The major loopholes we must seal for the country to see progress

‎You have been looking for the power to be free

‎Yet you have it and never use it

‎Wake up and smell the coffee

We need to be a free country

And we can’t be with crazy debt

‎When they loan us, they own us

‎Say no to debt mismanagement

‎Add your voice and make it end

‎Foreign debt, foreign debt is not the answer

‎We must choose to change the tune

‎Make noise until they listen

‎Or better still make it change at the ballot
